Pendulum Comparisons

Adding in the image made the pendulum animation feel more realistic and created more emotions in the viewer than it would have if it was just the pendulum swinging back and forth. I think using camera angles help me make the progress of making the animation easier and faster. Not only did it make the process faster, but it also made the overall animation better and used those PODs where they would more naturally belong. Than trying to use intuition to solve what camera angles and movements were needed in order to create the right feel for the animation. Design principles and camera movements greatly helped the animation go smoother and make the overall story of the animation make the right emotions come out.

Pendulum Settings

I chose the thumbnail that has the informal balance, because I want to show how much power the axe has, compared to the smaller character. I will set up my setting by first creating the scene. The scene will be like a dungeon that the character has to go through. It will start out with the character starting in the room before they enter the room with the big axe. The camera will be shaky and make a lot of sudden movements to make the viewer feel like the character is in stress and something crazy is happening. Once the character enter the room, you will see the dungeon room as a whole. Once it is done panning through the room, it will then start showing you the perspective of the character to the axe. This will show the informal balance between the character and the axe, emphasizing how more powerful and stronger the axe will be to the character. I will give all of the objects in my object some type of material to make it more realistic looking. Then, once it is evident that the axe is much larger than the viewer, it will then a zolly away from the character to show that the character is going to be hit by the axe. The scene ends right before the character gets hit by the axe and the view becomes black.

Camera Movements Analysis

Camera movements allows the person who is watching to be able to feel multiple different types of emotions. The first camera movement is the crane shot, which creates a feeling of being dropped in the character's world. When the camera moves from a low to a high, it emphasizes the emotion of the character being small and that they have some big obstacle to overcome. When the camera moves from a high angle to a low angle, it makes the person who is watching think and feel that the character is strong and powerful. A shaky camera makes the watcher to feel uneasy and unsteady, and gives the viewer knowledge that some action is occurring. A quick pan creates a feeling of danger that occurred to the character and a quick push makes the viewer to feel surprised. A slow dolly towards the character will produce a feeling of tension and intimidation. A slow dolly away from the character will produce a feeling of empathy towards the character. A dolly across will change the emotion when they can introduce new parts of the scene, making it feel dreamlike. A 360 shot will make feel like something is about to happen. A zolly is something that makes the viewer feel like the character just realized something and their mind was blown. Or it could possibly mean that something good or bad is about to happen.
